30GB Hard Disc Drive (HDD) - Perfect for
taking on a long trip or recording long events.
The internal 30GB* hard disk drive holds as much video data as about 22
8-cm DVD discs. That means you can record for around 27** hours without
changing a disc, tape or anything else. This SD Card/Hard Disk video
camera is perfect for people who want to shoot for hour after hour
without worrying about memory space.
*A 30GB hard disk utilizes a portion
of the storage space for formatting and other purposes. Usable capacity
will be less. 1 GB means 1,000,000,000 bytes.
**In LP mode
3CCD Camera System
3CCD camera system works by splitting the light received through the
lens into its three primary colour components (red, green and blue), and
the signal from each is processed by one of the three CCDs. Compared
with conventional 1CCD camera systems, Panasonic's 3CCD system provides
more vivid, true-to-life colours, greater detail and richer gradation.
Optical Image Stabilisation (O.I.S.)
Panasonic's O.I.S. minimises the hand shake than can be such a problem
with hand held shots. This system is optical, menaing there is no image
degradation.
Leica Dicomar Lens Photographers around the world know Leica Camera
AG as a maker of superb cameras and lenses. This company's advanced
optical technology has been fused with Panasonic's leading-edge digital
technology to create the Leica Dicomar lens. The Leica Dicomar lens
provided in the HDC-SD9 features 12 lens elements in eight groups and
uses low-dispersion optical glass to reduce colour blurring. A special
multi-coating process is applied to the 14 lens element surfaces to
minimise chromatic aberration, so images are crisp, clear, and free of
flare and ghosting.
