28mm Wide-Angle LEICA DC lens with 16:9 Wide CCD & LCD

The DMC-LX2 features a 4x optical zoom with a wide 28mm field of view (35mm equivalent) when shooting in the 16:9 format at 10.2-megapixel resolution. This and the 16:9 CCD with 10.2 million effective pixels give you superb image quality over a wide shooting range. And perfectly proportioned for wide-screen images, a 16:9 wide 2.8" LCD with 207,000-pixel resolution is newly equipped. The Extra Optical Zoom, which minimises the image degradation that normally occurs with digital zooming, gives you up to 5.5x*.

Easy-to-Use Joystick - Just Use Your Thumb

The joystick on the camera back lets you adjust the aperture, shutter speed, focus and exposure compensation while framing your shot on the LCD screen. Or simply press and hold the joystick, and you can also change the auto focus, light metering, white balance, ISO sensitivity, image size and image quality settings - all without taking your eyes from the monitor. There's no need to switch to the menu screen. 

Minimal Motion Blur with Intelligent ISO Control

In addition to low-noise shooting at up to ISO 1600 with full resolution, the LX2 features the world's first* Intelligent ISO Control" in ISO sensitivity setting which helps you get blur-free shots by automatically adjusting the ISO sensitivity (up to ISO 800) and shutter speed according to how much the subject is moving. The Scene mode features a High Sensitivity Mode (ISO 3200)** for shooting at even higher shutter speeds.

2.8", 16:9 Wide Ratio, High-Resolution LCD for Brighter Viewing

The DMC-LX2 features a 2.8" high-resolution LCD monitor - super large for such a compact camera. This high-quality, 207,000-pixel display makes it easy to see your subject.
