It achieves this by effectively cropping the large 7 megapixel processed image in camera creating an image of high resolution but of reduced image size. The Caplio R5 enjoys marked noise reduction and improved edge to edge clarity even up to high sensitivity ISO 1600 thanks to the installation of the new Smooth Image Engine II. The impressive 1cm macro function also lets users get up closer and personal with their subject.

The AVI movie function enables you to record at VGA 640 x 480 at 30fps until memory is full. The Caplio R5's image stabiliser ‘Vibration Correction’ suppresses image shake for a clear, steady shot, a critical feature given the Caplio R5’s big zoom capacity.
